Statement on CMS Lowering Out-of-Pocket Insulin Costs for Seniors

By California Chronic Care Coalition

May 28, 2020

Liz Helms, President and CEO of the California Chronic Care Coalition, issued a reaction to CMS lowering out-of-pocket insulin costs for seniors:

“As an advocate for those with chronic conditions like diabetes, I am encouraged by the Trump administration’s implementation of the Part D Senior Savings Model. This model will lower the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare, encouraging adherence to their treatment plans and decreasing their risk of a medical emergency.

While we have a long way to go, this is a tremendous step in the right direction. We must continue to advocate for access to treatment for all patients.”
